The Journey

Six days built around the best of Panama City and its surroundings, from the locks of the Canal to the whale waters of Las Perlas.

You stay in a comfortable Executive-standard hotel in the city with daily breakfast, and travel by private air-conditioned vehicle throughout. Airport transfers, four included lunches, and around-the-clock local support are all part of the package. Entrance fees are included everywhere except the historic churches of Casco Viejo, which charge a small $2 donation per person on the day, should you wish to enter.

Hotel is Executive Standard as priced below. Upgrades to a higher category are available on request.

Welcome to Panama

Private transfer from Tocumen International Airport to your hotel in the city. Settle in and rest ahead of the days to come.

02City

The Canal and the Old Quarter

The experience begins at the Miraflores Locks, where you watch ships rise and fall on the Panama Canal. In the afternoon, wander the cobbled streets of Casco Viejo, the restored colonial heart of the city, with its plazas, rooftops, and sea views.

03Rainforest

Gatun Lake and the Wounaan

Board a boat across Gatun Lake to Monkey Island, home to several species of primates in the wild. Continue to a Wounaan village to meet an Indigenous community and learn about their crafts and way of life.

04Islands

Isla Bolanos, Las Perlas

A ferry out to the Pearl Islands and a day on Isla Bolanos, with its clear water and quiet beaches. From July to October, optional whale-watching brings you close to the humpbacks that migrate through these Pacific waters.

05Caribbean

Colon, Agua Clara and San Lorenzo

Cross to the Caribbean side to the Agua Clara Locks, the Canal's expanded set, then visit the Spanish colonial fort of San Lorenzo, a UNESCO site guarding the mouth of the Chagres River.

Farewell

Breakfast at your hotel and a private transfer back to the airport in good time for your flight home.

Price per person

The more you travel together, the lower the per-person rate. Vehicle scales with your group: a private SUV or van for two to six guests, a minibus for eight to fourteen.

Single traveller supplement: add $227 for the five nights in a private room.

Payment: Prices are per person in US dollars. A 7% processing fee applies to card payments at checkout; bank transfer and other methods are available and will be shared with you when you book.

Booking Terms

Deposit and cancellation

To reserve

A 30% deposit confirms your dates. The deposit is non-refundable. The balance is due 30 days before your arrival.

Peak dates

During peak periods, bookings are non-refundable in full.

If you cancel

  • 30 or more days before arrival: you lose the deposit only.
  • 15 to 29 days before: 50% of the total is due.
  • 14 days or fewer, or no-show: 100% of the total is due.
